Situated in the picturesque region of Tokaji-Hegyalja in north-eastern Hungary these vineyards were first planted by Count Ferenc Dobó in 1576, in 1737 they were classified as Grand Cru by Royal Decree. With it's sister vineyard Pajzos the Chateau shares winemaking facilities & the famous Rákóczi Cellars at the Sárospatak Castle, the largest & best preserved Renaissance castle in Hungary. Tokaji Aszu; a noble wine, golden nectar, liquid indulgence.
The palate has praline notes at the start interlaced with botrytis, dried figs & honey, next pineapple & apricots. Aged notes from 4 years of ageing in small wooden barrels. A thick, creamy texture with a smooth long finish. Beautiful.
