Smokkelman is a collaboration between Solitary Wines and Sonn & Co made on the Karibib wine farm in the Polkadraai Hill just outside Stellenbosch. Hints of white pepper and fynbos on the nose are characteristic of the Polkadraai Hills Syrah, adding a regional touch to this exceptional blend.
Blended from a hand-picked selection of bespoke barrels secretly gesmokkel from some of the Cape’s most prestigous cellars. Predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon from the windswept slopes of the Helderberg, matured for two years in older oak. Blended with Syrah from the Dolomite-rich, spice-inducing Polkadraai Hills.
Tasting note: The nose is dominated by the 60% blended Cabernet Sauvignon, exuding enticing aromas of berries, cassis, and blackcurrant. The 40% Syrah reveals itself on the palate, bringing a smooth and alluring spiciness that perfectly balances the Cabernet.
