This weekend, the exceptional Mas de la Rime makes its much-anticipated return to the Vineking. We're so excited to have these back in our shops - they were amongst our favourites of last year. The 2011 vintage is stonkingly good and really shows off why biodynamic production methods are worth taking seriously. Both are on great deals, so definitely grab them while you can before the staff call dibs on the stock!
The red is a blend of Syrah and Mourvedre - the extra maturity that comes from a further year in bottle results in a deep, dark and complex wine, with rich black berry fruit with undertones of leather and pungent spice and a length that just keeps giving. A very sophisticated drop indeed.
The white is a blend of Rousanne and Grenache Blanc, fermented in barriques just long enough to give it a richness without any overpowering oaky notes. The minerality is maintained and balanced by quince, white flowers and light spice from the Rousanne. Simply sublime.
