It has been a while since we had this classic on the shelf. One of the select vineyards that was awarded Cru Classe status in 1955 based on the quality of the vineyards and the heritage of the properties. A lovely expression of the grapes and the land.

2014 Mercurey Champ Ladoy Domaine Belleville Bourgogne Rouge
This Domaine was founded back in the early 20th Century. All the fruit is from their own vineyards so that there is complete control of production. This site has quite a high content of clay which lends itself well to darker fruited Pinot with defined structure. Aged in oak to broaden the palate of the wine this is a classy wine from the Cote Chalonnaise.
