The Macedo Pinto family has a long history of viticulture in the Douro Valley with records dating back to 1755. Quinta do Espinho is devoted to the traditional grape varieties of the Douro Valley, with plantings of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca and Tinta Roriz predominating. Since 1999, the winemaking has been under the guidance of Jean-Hugues Gros who has a wealth of winemaking experience from working in Burgundy, Champagne, California and the Douro.
A blend of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz. Complex nose wine, with aromas of dark, ripe fruit, cherries, tobacco, and spices. Fresh and concentrated mouth, due to the aroma of fruit. Well balanced and elegant wine. This vintage has a long finish with soft tannins.
