The 'Flying Solo' range flies in the face of convention shunning international varieties in favour of the typical Grenache grape which forms its backbone, blended with Syrah, Viognier or Cinsault respectively. It celebrates
the intrepid Aéropostale pilots who risked life and limb to ensure postal services in the 1920s. From Minervois (Limestone plateaus) with traditional vinification for the Grenache - Short maceration at low temperature for the Syrah.
Tasting note: A deep, intense purple colour that catches the eye at first sight. The nose reveals a basket of ripe fruit: red plum, blackberry, blackcurrant jam, with a touch of freshness provided by redcurrant and liquorice notes of cachou. On the palate, a generous explosion of red fruit softens the mellow but still structured tannins, giving the wine depth and persistence. The finish is prolonged by aromas of liquorice and pink pepper.
