2015 Schistes Blanc Chateau Coupe Roses
A crisp dry mineral wine from the Minnervois kicks off our tasting samples this weekend. A blend of Marsanne and Roussane that are both grown on schiste and clay-limestone soils hence the minerality. It's fermented in stainless steel at low temperature and then spending a brief period in oak to round out the acidity. The nose presents quince and white flowers that follows beautifully on the palate. A perfect pairing for goats cheese, fish dishes or on it's own as an aperatif.
£14.99 per bottle, or why not grab 2 for £25!
2010 Marques de Murrieta Tinto Reserva Rioja
The 2010 Reserva in particular thrilled us all, with it's sense of perfect balance. Dark, spiced fruit on the nose, the oak is so beautifully integrated, you barely notice it and on the palate the wine simply overwhelms you with is delicious, sensuous, lashings of dark fruit, its balance and sublime length on the palate are utterly joyous.
Usually £22.99 per bottle it's £18.39 throughout October!
