We have 3 wines on tasting this weekend!

To finish July properly, on the top of the 2013 Barolo Pio Cesare, which is on offer, we also have on tasting:

2012 Viré Clessé Cuvée Tradition Domaine Gondard-Perrin £18.99/Btl
White wines made mainly of the chardonnay grape from 4 communes around the villages of Vire and Clesse in the northern part of the Maconnais sub-region of Burgundy. This is about 10 miles north of the town of Macon itself. Domaine Gondard Perrin is a family owned concern in this area.
It is a dry wine and fairly acidic. There is plenty of a peach apricot and citrus style fruit there but there is no suggestion of vanilla or butter as this has not been in oak barrels. In short this is a lovely white Burgundy.

Then,
Scoundrel Shiraz Grenache 2013 £11.99/Btl
From the Magpie estate,
A great value Aussie red from the Barossa Valley - home of wines with ripe juicy fruit and spice. It's 75% Shiraz with 25% Grenache and was aged in old oak. Classic aromas of blackberries, pepper spice and a little vanilla. The palate is medium bodied with flavors of plum, berries and licorice, with a nice freshness on the finish. Perfect for BBQ.
