Wine on tasting in Weybridge 17_12_16

17 December 2016

There might be no snow outside but Xmas is upon us....NEXT SATURDAY! We surely stocked in the shops and starting Festive celebrations this weekend, yup bring on the Champagne!!!
On tasting in Weybridge we have few delicious new wines.

NV La Chapelle Instinct Premier Cru Brut Champagne
"Very pretty nose with mouth-filling fruit and delicate mousse. Nothing in excess.... Just the sort of fizz you would be thrilled with at a party" - Jancis Robinson

Brilliant Premier Cru champagne from a small co-op of 21 growers b
ased in Villedommange - a Premier Cru village located just south of Reims. 60% Pinot Meunier, 25% Pinot Noir, 15% Chardonnay. We love it for its soft mousse, great depth of flavour and good length. Fantastic value for money, our best selling wine and we all love it!
£28.99btl/case of 6 £150/case of 12 £270/24 bottles £480 (£20/btl!)
2015 Sancerre Blanc Croq'caillotte Domaine Emile Balland
Marvellous Sancerre, fresh nettle and herbal aromas mingle withan appetising gooseberry-fool opulence in this Loire Sauvignon Blanc. The vibrant fruit flavours are nicely balanced by crisp acidity.
Emile has just one hectare of Sancerre and cuvée Croq'Caillotte comes from the steep, south facing slopes of the Amigny area of Sancerre and is one of those rare wines that hugely over-deliver on quailty.
£24.99btl/case of 6 £120!
2011 Chateau La Bastidette Montagne St Emilion
2011 was a vintage overshadowed by the magnificence of both 2009 & 2010, yet 2011 has produced some lovely wines and 5 years on, this represents some very enjoyable drinking.  Chateau La Bastidette is one of two wines made at Chateau Montets in Laland de Pomerol and we preferred it even over their Lalande de Pomerol!
Dark brick red in the glass, this 100% Merlot wine has a soft, ripe note of damson, plum and a touch of black berry, light spice and a touch of cedar.  Deliciously supple and round on the palate with effortless tannins, this still retains a freshness and balance that puts it over and above many better known names!
Drink now - 2018
£16.99btl/ Part of our glorious selection Le Picque et Mix 12 for £150! (12.50/btl)
2012 Holden Manz Merlot Franschhoek SA
Sweet ripe fruits, blackberries and red berries with balanced acidity, all this combines into depth on the mouth and an appreciation of this super smooth elegant wine. The fruit tannins are ripe, rich and full offering a satisfying long finish .Matured for 22 months in 20% new French oak. Perfect with Cheese, Dark Meat, Pasta, Spicy Food, Venison.
Winemaker Thierry Haberer, has been making wine around the world for more than a decade, with roots that go back earlier than that – his grandfather was a vine grower in Morocco and later a producer in Corsica, where his father still makes wine today.
Completing his studies at the Faculty d’Oenologie, University of Bordeaux, with a wealth of practical knowledge acquired doing seasonal work in the lauded vineyards of Bordeaux, Thierry soon found himself working as a freelance winemaker at international wineries including Anthonij Rupert Cellar (South Africa), Rudd Estate (Napa Valley, USA) and Katerzina Estate (Bulgaria). It was in 2008 that Thierry went on to join forces with one of France’s best-known wine consultants, Michel Rolland.
A passionate and out-of-the-box approach combined with a deep respect for preserving the quality of the fruit shows in every bottle he produces, and there is no doubt that his quality-driven approach and thirst for innovation will set new standards in the Holden Manz range – something to look forward to as Thierry continues to delve into the potential bursting from our terroir and grapes alike.
£15.99btl/ case of 6 £75(£12.50/btl!)

See you over the weekend!
