28 September 2016
It is not often at the Vineking that we are harbingers of doom, quite the reverse, we always want all our customers to enjoy our wine. It is merely that the clairvoyant amongst us can easily predict what is going to happen to the prices and quantities in Chablis next year thanks to the devastating frosts and hailstorms so far in 2016.
Yields are normally 60 - 80 hectolitres per hectare but apparently this year this has been drastically reduced to between 10 - 12 hectolitres. This in effect means that there will be very limited availability for Chablis lovers next year and the prices will rise dramatically which is why we are urging our customers to stock up on the 2015 vintage now.
We have secured an allocation of stock from three quality producers (12 bottle cases unless specified) as follows:
Domaine Millet 2015 Petit Chablis, £150 |
|
2015 Chablis Vieilles Vignes, £190 |
|
Domaine Samuel Billaud 2015 Petit Chablis, £190, |
The following are in 6 bottle cases: 2015 Grand Cru Vaudesir, £300 (only 120 bottles available), 2015 Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses, £300 (only 120 bottles) and 2015 Chablis Grand Cru Valmur, £300 (Only 60 bottles available)
