Monviert is a family owned and run winery in Colli Orientali del Friuli DOC in Nother East Italy. The vines are managed using the 'integrated struggle' method, which respects the balance of the plants and minimizes the use of chemicals. In the cellar indigenous yeasts are used reducing the need for sulphites.
The Monviert Martagona Friuliano has aromas of chamomile, ripe pineapple, wild flower, honey, fresh apricot, thyme and bitter almond bouquet. Full-bodied, well-rounded, savoury and persistent. On the palate it is initially almost oily, it then develops in a fresh and sapid structure, then continues with a long elegant and dry persistence. A wine of character and harmony, it can accompany a variety of dishes, from
appetizers to first courses of meat or fish.
Monviert is a word that means ‘open mountain’ in the Friulian language, and it’s the name given to a wine that represents its makers’ love for their land, the Colli Orientali del Friuli.
