A fragrant and very approachable red blend produced in Southern Rhône's Gigondas appellation by Thierry and Gilles Faravel. Their family has been farming their low-yielding 30-50 year old vines organically since the late 1980s, nine hectares of which are situated at the base of the famous Dentelles de Montmirail, making them some of the highest vineyards in Gigondas. Grown on a plot next to the River Ouvèze this is a blend of Merlot, Syrah and the little known Caladoc and is consequently classified as just 'Vin de France' but from highly regarded Gigondas producer this a really good value for money wine.
It's smooth and spicy with some robust dark fruit flavours and it's very easy drinking with soft and elegant tannins.
Perfect when you want a good, juicy quaffing red. Great with things like pizza and pasta.
