Viña Siegel is a family winery rooted in tradition and history. For generations, the Siegel family has been producing wines with real character that reflect their place of origin and the dedication of the family.
German architect Alberto Siegel Lubbe was born in 1870 and was responsible for some of Santiago’s most important 20th-century buildings including the Reserva Federal de Chile building. His son Alberto Siegel Dauelsberg chose a different career and became a winegrower managing several well-known vineyards. He later went on to study agronomy and take on work experience at several wine cellars in Germany before returning to plant his first vineyards in the the Colchagua Valley – these are now the modern-day Viña Siegel.
The Viña Siegel estate currently covers more than 700 hectares of vineyards across seven locations in key positions from the foothills of the Andes to those closer to the ocean in the Leyda Valley. The company’s aim is to produce wines with real quality and character. They are focused on preserving the natural landscape and local environment while also looking towards the future to keep up with current consumer trends.
