Selladore en Provence

Located in Cotes du Provence · France

Between the Alps and the Mediterranean sits a microclimate that’s ideal for grape growing, with Mistral winds blowing cool breezes that allow the grapes to thrive without burning or developing rot. This is the Provence region, and it’s home to Selladore en Provence, a vineyard with deep links to the terroir and a true commitment to quality.

The vineyard stretches across 27 hectares of this landscape, growing classic Provençal varieties of grenache, syrah, cinsault and vermentino (rolle). A hint of minerality can be detected in many of the wines here – this comes from the sandy clay soils, which are rich in limestone and bauxite for that distinctive tang.

This is a winery that looks both to the past and to the future – the water drip irrigation system is still fed by an ancient source that was the heart of the estate when it was built in the 11th century. Some of the vines have real history too (some of the grenache vines date back to the 1930s), but the average age is 25 years, with areas frequently being replanted to ensure the stability of future supplies.
