Holden Manz Wine Estate occupies 22 hectares of the southernmost corner of the Franschhoek Valley, between the Franschhoek River and Stony Brook and surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery.
This estate grows red grapes exclusively, most notably Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Up here at 300 metres above sea level both the climate and soil type are perfectly suited to the proprietors’ aim: to produce ultra-premium wines for the most discerning of wine connoisseurs. Long, wet and cold winters allow the vines a good period of dormancy, with hot dry summers and gentle autumns leading to excellent development and slow ripening for the best possible results.
