Franschhoek winery Anthonij Rupert Wyne is owned by Johann Rupert, who took over his brother’s farm after his death in 2001, named his wine brand in Anthonij's honour.
Johann’s work at the L’Ormarins property transformed it from a farm into a renowned wine estate and a thriving business. At its heart is a contemporary winery, established by Johann with the aim of producing truly terroir-specific wines.
As well as grapes grown at L’Ormarins, Johann also works with fruit from elsewhere around the region (including vineyards in Darling, Swartland and Elandskloof). All the sites have been selected for their excellent growing conditions, allowing Anthonij Rupert Wyne to craft wines with full flavours and distinctive characters.
