Vina Robles was founded by 2 Swiss gentlemen who came across Paso Robles in the 1980s and decided to put down roots and craft wines which represent a bridge between old and new world styles. The Vina Robles vineyard team takes care of our vineyards, while Winemaker Kevin Willenborg selects only the finest blocks from each site for the production of Vina Robles wines.
This case contains three of each of their top reds - the Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Syrah.
x3 2021 Vina Robles Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
The fruit for their 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon was selected from two estate vineyards in Paso Robles – Creston Valley and Huerhuero. Huerhuero Vineyard, in the hilly terrain between the El Pomar and Geneseo Districts, benefits from the moderating Pacific breezes and limiting calcareous subsoils. Creston Valley Vineyard has picture perfect high terrain, southern exposure and shallow soils with noticeable granulated limestone. The combination of these vineyards produces Cabernet Sauvignon with an overall balance of expressive varietal flavours and structure. Starting with aromas of Cassis, cherries and notes of liquorice with hints of juniper berry, tobacco and mocha. The palate is full-bodied with juicy red and dark fruits, mocha followed by good tannins and a firm chewy finish.
x3 2021 Vina Robles Petite Sirah
Petite Sirah is a classic variety grown in California for more than a century, and is well suited to the limiting soils found in our estate vineyards in Paso Robles. The fruit for our 2019 Petite Sirah was handpicked in the early morning and sorted to ensure quality and uniformity of ripeness. While the majority of this vintage was aged in French oak barrels, a portion went into American and Hungarian oak barrels to add complexity. The final lots were selected and blended for overall synergies - structure and minerality from Creston Valley, along with silkiness and expressive fruit from Jardine. The blend was then aged for an additional 12 months in barrels to fully integrate before bottling. The result is a wine displaying complexity, structure, richness and balance. Fruity notes of boysenberry and plum, with hints of caramel and a creamy finish.
