Paul Hobbs, founder of Viña Cobos, is amongst the world’s best known and most highly respected consultants. In 1989, Paul Hobbs visited Mendoza for the first time. Driving over the Andes from Chile with his longstanding friend Jorge Catena, brother of Nicolas Catena, he fell in love. Utilising his connections to the US, Paul created a route to market for Argentinean wine, propelling Malbec onto the international wine scene.
He challenged the notion of Malbec being only a 'blending grape'. Paul went on to establish Vina Cobos in 1991. He embarked on a quest to seek out the finest terroirs to elaborate unique wines with a true sense of place within Mendoza’s top winegrowing districts, Luján de Cuyo and the high Andean slopes of the Valle de Uco.
After 1999, the inaugural vintage of Cobos Malbec, Viña Cobos marked a milestone in viticulture, defying existing standards and firmly positioned Malbec and Argentina on the international wine scene.
The Social Table - Chef Richard Skinner. After catering college, Richard moved to France and cooked under luminaries such as Éric Fréchon at the 3* Michelin Le Hotel Bristol. He then moved to Normandy to work with Jean-Christophe Novelli, where he perfected his classical cooking. Since then Richard has worked for chefs such as Pierre Koffman and Adam Byatt at the 1* Michelin Trinity, before pursuing a career in contract catering. His wealth of experience also includes time as Group Executive Chef for a boutique contract caterer looking after clients such as Mercedes F1.

All dietary requirements where possible will be catered for.
If you have to cancel your table with 14+ days notice we will refund your payment in full.
If cancellation is between 7-14 days before the event, you will be entitled to a 50% refund or we will offer to reschedule you to another date if possible.
In the event that we can resell the places booked, there will be a 100% refund. However, we offer no refund payment if there is less than 7 days notice of cancellation unless we can resell the places booked.
