2020 Domaine Patrick Javillier Savigny Les Beaunes 1er Cru Les Serpentieres £59.99
Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru les Serpentières is situated on a gently rising slope, with an average vine age of 30 years. The wine is elegant and fine with a mineral dimension. The wine displays a nose with notes of red fruits and some rhubarb. The attack is round with fine acidity. The wine displays aromas of blackberries and raspberries. The wine is more complex, richer with great freshness and present tannins.
2020 Genot Boulanger Pommard Vieilles Vignes £49.99
As ever this is very fine boned Pommard with pale fleshed sweet berry fruit, fine minerals, sweet floral notes and a finish that’s redolent of sweet alpine strawberries. Fine is the word here, with neat length and plenty of delicate persistence and silky tannins that cover a core of cool creamy berry fruit. A veritable old vines cuvee split across three lieux dits - Cras, Vignot, Chagnieres - half of the parcels was planted in the 1950s, the rest in the 1980s.

A wonderfully ripe and balanced Nuits Saint Georges. With a heady nose, there is some pulse and energy to the sun-kissed ripe red berry fruit here. Gripping and with a mineral complexity adding dimension, this makes for a successful, well-rounded Nuits villages. From 50 to 60 year old vines, aged in 15% new oak.
