“Primarily from the southern Margaret River Rowe Road Vineyard, whole-bunch pressed and fermented and aged in French barriques, 20% new. Dials things up a notch from the Estate chardonnay, with an extra degree of richness in the fruit and slightly more oak impact. Outstanding depth and length of flavour with a lingering aftertaste.”

'Smart, modern Oz Chardonnay, with subtle but very present oak aromas & zesty minerality; clean, tangy palate, fresh and zesty, substantial but not heavy. Great drinking. Move over Chablis 1er Cru.'

Located in the ultra-premium Margaret River region in Western Australia, Deep Woods is one of the prestigious vineyards that has put the region on the map. In the last few years their star-studded wines have been getting some incredible reviews from critics and drinkers alike – so much so, that last years offer sold out of the top wines in less than 24 hours!
Deep Wood’s wines are complex and serious, with a polish & sophistication second to none. Absolutely drinkable in the Australian fashion of their finest wines, these have that balancing trick of also cellaring magnificently – anyone willing to put them aside for a few years will savour the results.
Pale straw in colour, the wine exhibits lifted nectarine and white blossom characters. A suggestion of cedar-like oak frames the generous stone-fruit characters and complex chipped shell minerality. The palate is clean and lively with tremendous depth of ripe stonefruit flavour nuanced by cashew notes. Bright citrusy acidity ensures a long and seamless finish providing enhanced structure and length.
