2023 Oliver Zeter Petz Syrah Merlot £18.99

Petz was the nickname of Oliver Zeter's great-grandfather Walter Baer. The Petz red wine is a "field blend" in which Syrah and Merlot grapes from sites in Edenkoben and Hambach were harvested and fermented together. After pressing, the wine matured for 12 months in wooden barrels and was bottled unfiltered. On the nose, juicy aromas of dark berries such as plum, black cherry and blackberry meet delicate spicy notes and liquorice. On the palate, the wine shows a distinctive and extremely drinkable structure with intense fruit aromas that reflect the impression of the bouquet. Fine-grained tannins and fruity-spicy aromas give the finish a remarkable length.
