Isabel Estate is one of the original Marlborough vineyards with some of the oldest vines in the region on original rootstock. In 1980, and with a bird`s eye view, pilot Mike Tiller discovered a precious pocket of land, and the beginning of one of the pioneering Marlborough wineries was born. Mike and his wife Robyn built a winery on the site and named it in honour of Mike`s mother, Isabel. Under new ownership and also leadership of Chief Winemaker Jeremy McKenzie, the winery continues to build its reputation for award winning Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir but is also producing world class Chardonnay.

The vineyards are meticulously tended, with a focus on sustainable practices and a deep respect for the land. The unique microclimate of the region, characterised by long sunny days and cool nights, imparts a remarkable intensity of flavours to the grapes. The calcium-rich clay and limestone within the vineyard soil imparts a distinctive minerality and concentration to their wines. Only the finest, hand-selected grapes are harvested at their optimal ripeness, ensuring the production of a wine that truly showcases the terroir.

Tasting note: A pale straw colour that hints at its youthful character. The aromas are delightfully expressive, with vibrant citrus notes of grapefruit and lemon zest as well as subtle hints of tropical fruits like passion fruit and guava. On the palate it is crisp and lively, with juicy citrus and tropical fruit balanced by mineral purity and a long, refreshing finish. Vibrant yet finely structured, this is an elegant expression of the style.
