Castello di Tassarolo is situated in the Gavi DOCG commune that shares its name. Massimiliana is the latest in the Spinola family line that stretches back to the 8th Century owned the castle since the 14th Century. Massimiliana and Henry manage their 20 hectares of vineyard along biodynamic principles and wines are organic and handmade and exemplify perfectly the high standards and respectfully natural production of the estate.
Gavi ‘Spinola’ is the estate Gavi, 100% Cortese from vineyards around the Alborina lake. Fermentation takes place in stainless Steel and care is taken to preserve the fleshy fruit flavours of the carefully tended grapes.
Tasting note: Cortese can yield very heavily but yields are kept under control, this being evident in the concentrated core of the wine and the fantastic breadth and aromas of lime, orange blossom, flowers and greengage.
