Wine press: "Tua Rita 2023 Rosso dei Notri is the estate’s entry-level blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Sangiovese. This year represents the first time that the wine is almost entirely made in cement (with al ittle bit of stainless steel). This shift gives more prominence to the wine’s primary fruit and general brightness. There is redcurrant, wild strawberry, blue flower and sweet earth. This is an expressive, albeit simple red blend with good freshness to close. 92 Points, Monica Larner, Wine Advocate."
Tua Rita is one of Tuscany’s most iconic names. Nestled on the Tyrrhenian coast, at the end of a 10km serpentine corridor of the Val di Cornia. The estate was founded in 1984 by Rita Tua and her husband, Virgilio Bisti and legendary winemaker Luca d’Attoma, still oversees winemaking. Cabernet Sauvignon + Merlot (80%) with Syrah & Cabernet Franc (20%)
Tasting note: Ruby red with aromas of blackberries, plums and ripe black cherries over more subtle notes of cocoa, liquorice and sweet spice. On the palate, the wine is smooth, with silky tannins and bracing acidity, showing structural balance long into the finish.
