The 2022 Sarrat de Goundy Le Planteur Rouge is a full-bodied red wine from the La Clape AOC in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France. This wine is known for its elegant and fresh character, with silky tannins and notes of fruit and spice. The Planteur cuvée is a tribute to Claude, the winemaker's father, who worked in harsh conditions on this stony land where he planted the Sarrat De Goundy vineyard by hand, earning him the nickname "Planteur".
Made from 60% Syrah, 30% Grenache, 10% Mourvèdre and grapes for this wine are harvested manually. It is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, 30% of which are new.
Tasting Note: Deep colour with garnet highlights. Elegant aromas of jammy red and black fruits and a notes of garrigue. On the palate it is full and generous, with flavours of laurel, blackcurrant, and vanilla. It has a pleasant freshness and a long, crisp finish. This red wine is the epitome of elegance and finesse, with a very pleasant sensation of suppleness and freshness on the palate.
Food match: Pairs well with a variety of dishes, including lamb, grilled meats, and cheeses.
