The Robertson Winery is nestled in the Robertson Valley in the Western Cape of South Africa. The town of Robertson was founded by a Scottish Minister, Dr William Robertson. The life source of the Robertson Valley and one of the most important rivers in the Western Cape, is the Breede River, which is vital to the winery and community. Historically, the Robertson 'Beach' was a place for all townsfolk to gather, share the weeks stories, swim in the Breede River and bask in the sun.
The nose and palate is delightful. Sitting somewhere between the rich fruits of a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and the more elegant French Sauvignon Blanc, this South African example shows notes of lemon flesh, lime, gooseberry, green apple and a touch of peach and cut grass. The acidity is crisp and refreshing and the finish long and lingering.
