Founded in 2013, the Leeu Passant wines are a partnership between Analjit Singh of Leeu Estates hotels and Chris and Andrea Mullineux. Analjit visited South Africa for the first time in 2010 for the FIFA World Cup, fell in love with the winemaking culture in Franschhoek and never left. He subsequently bought into Mullineux and appointed Chris and Andrea as winemakers for his winemaking project Leeu Passant.
This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon comes from a 300m elevated site in one of Stellenbosch’s coolest viticultural areas. Planted on the midslopes of iron and sandstone-rich soils of the Helderberg Mountain, the site naturally achieves excellent balance, concentration and finesse.
Tasting Note: is aromatic and supple, this Cabernet Sauvignon reveals concentrated aromas of mulberry and dried orange peel. On the palate, notes of cassis and fresh plum are coupled with silky, ripe tannins. The finish is long and refined.
