We’ve been following these guys for the last decade or so. Hailing from the southern Rhone appellations of Lirac & Chateauneuf-du-Pape, they work 85 hectares organically and are moving into biodynamics under the auspices of winemaker Pascal Lafond. From the straight Cotes-du-Rhone to their sumptuous white Lirac and their rich, warm Chateauneuf-du-Pape they are really easy wines to love. As well as showing the same silky, plush fruit across the board, they genuinely strive to keep their costs down: this vineyard has always felt like a labour of love as well as a commercial producer.

A blend of Grenache 60%, Syrah 30%, Mourvedre 10%, the wine is first matured in stainless steel tanks until the first racking; then allowed to mature further in new oak barrels for 3 or 4 months in order to get a smoother tannin. Finally, the wine is kept bottled for at least 6 months before release.

A powerful and well structured Lirac with deep ruby colour with violet tints. Complex nose of vanilla, fruits and griotte-cherries. The attack is rich and firm; the mouth expresses long lasting nuances of vanilla and pepper. This is a smooth and rich wine with a very good length. A great pairing for red meats, game, deli meats and cheeses.
