This year marks the 25th anniversary of Viña Cobos, a winery founded by Paul Hobbs in 1988. This proved to be a milestone in contemporary viticulture for Argentina, defying quality and setting a new benchmark, placing Malbec and Argentina together with the greatest world-class producers.

The 2019 harvest in Argentina is recognised an exceptional vintage across the board, with winemakers and critics calling it the best vintage of the decade.

The Upper Mendoza River Zone is the premier appellation for cultivating Cabernet Sauvignon. It is a piedmont region that extends like a cone along each bank of the Mendoza River. Elevation starts at 2,300 and climbs to 3,600 feet above sea level. Cold airflow descends from the snowfields of the Andes Mountains through the Rio Mendoza’s wide, shallow canyon bringing cool nights to refresh the vineyards set in this arid, high desert climate. This wine was aged for 18 months in a combination of new and second use French oak barrels before being bottled in November 2019, unfined and unfiltered.
