“Stony soils on granite and limestone are the source of this Andean Cabernet Franc, which is everything you’d expect from the variety and a bit more. Stylish, refreshing and poised, with scented 50% new oak, black cherry, lead pencil and cut grass notes, racy acidity, graceful tannins and a chalky frisson”
95 points - Tim Atkin

96 points - James Suckling

This year marks the 25th anniversary of Viña Cobos, a winery founded by Paul Hobbs in 1988. This proved to be a milestone in contemporary viticulture for Argentina, defying quality and setting a new benchmark, placing Malbec and Argentina together with the greatest world-class producers.

The 2019 harvest in Argentina is recognised an exceptional vintage across the board, with winemakers and critics calling it the best vintage of the decade.

Cabernet Franc is planted on the west-eastern slope of the Chañares Estate with northern exposure that favours air circulation and healthy growing conditions. Aged for 18 months in a combination of new and second use French oak barrels, bottled unfined and unfiltered.
