Rioja by Vina Del Oja

Wine has been made in the Rioja region for many centuries, and there is still a strong sense of tradition at play in this part of northern Spain, particularly in the use of native grapes such as tempranillo and garnacha (along with viura for whites). A new wave of modern winemaking has developed over recent years, however, with young producers dropping the traditional oak overtones in favour of something brighter and fruitier.

Rioja is a large and varied region, however, so there’s plenty of room for both approaches to co-exist on this diverse terrain. There’s variety in the Vineking collection of Rioja wines, too – including both fresh young wines, crianza wines (which have had a minimum of a year of ageing) and reserva fine wines.
