Sauvignon Blanc Bordeaux

It’s (almost) all about the red wines in the Bordeaux region – around 90% of the area’s production is red, although the whites and rosés produced here are well worth a look too. Dominated by merlot and cabernet sauvignon grapes, Bordeaux red wines tend to be full bodied and packed with dark red fruits; a high tannin content gives a distinctive mouthfeel and also brings great ageing potential to many of these wines.

The Bordeaux region is known for quality, covering some of the world’s most renowned wine areas such as Margaux and Saint-Emilion, but even its entry-level wines have much to offer. At all price points, these wines pair beautifully with classic French-style food such as steak, duck and cheeses.
