South Africa Wine by White
Wine tourism is big business in South Africa, with travellers flocking to the wine regions as much for the spectacular scenery as for the attractive tasting and tour experiences – and turning Cape wine areas like Stellenbosch and Franschhoek into household names in the process.
This was the first of the ‘New World’ regions to start producing wine, when European settlers first planted vineyards back in the 17th century. These days, the country has a distinctive character all of its own thanks to its signature grapes pinotage, cabernet sauvignon and chenin blanc – all of which feature strongly in the Vineking’s collection of South African wines, alongside other varieties that make the most of this country's unique growing climate.
