Portuguese Wine from Duoro

Portugal has a reputation for producing great-value wines in all categories – reds, whites and, most famously, fortified wines (port being of such importance that the Douro Valley became the world’s first official Controlled Designation of Origin in the 18th century).

Part of Portugal’s success in winemaking comes from its reluctance to follow international trends, with its wineries instead focusing on native grapes and styles, such as vinho verde, that help it stand out from the crowd. Don’t be put off if you don’t recognise some of the grapes in the Vineking’s Portuguese wine collection – these wines have all been chosen by our wine experts to bring you something fresh and new to try alongside our collection of some of the best classic port wines.
