Argentinian Bodegas Atamisque

Located in Mendoza · Argentina

Bodegas Atamisque sits in the Uco Valley in the district of San José of Tupungato, part of the famous ‘Ruta del Vino’. Owners John and Chantal Du Monceau created their first harvest here in 2007 after falling in love with the area and deciding to buy the estate and settle down there.

The winery now has a fascinating history blending the heritage of Argentina and France – Chantal’s grandfather had been a winemaker in the Beaujolais area, a history that inspired her to support the idea of building a winery here. The pair still maintain respect the rich past of the location, however: its story can be traced back to Inca times, before the Jesuits later settled in Mendoza and founded a rural property in the Uco Valley, leading to the establishment of the Atamisque estancia.
