In the Florina region of northwest Greece, Alpha Estate was the brainchild of viticulturist Makis Mavridis and chemist-oenologist Angelos Iatridis, who established the winery in 1997. After many years of winemaking experience in Greece and beyond, this Amyndeon location was the one they chose to create their own wine.
It's the next generation that are in charge now – Angeliki Iatridou and Emorfili Mavridou oversee a business that stays true to the founders’ belief that nature and the human soul are key features for creating excellent wines.
The privately owned vineyard now covers 220 hectares of land, which is managed with sustainable and eco-friendly practices and a strong commitment to nurturing both nature and professional knowhow.
