This weekend we have some real little beauts for you.
2015 Idyll 'Achinos Rose, La Tour Melas, Achinos, Greece
Fresh, elegant with pretty red fruit notes and citrus on the nose. On the palate this wine is deliciously smooth and polished with a fresh balance and a delightfully long finish. Could it be that it's even better than Miraval and Whispering Angel?
2014 Sancerre Blanc Croq'caillotte Domaine Emile Balland
Classic Sancerre with green tinged fruit, a lovely flinty note, good acidity and elegance. It has real depth of flavour and lovely balance and, whilst very good now, it will improve with some bottle age.
2010 Marques de Murrieta, Tinto Reserva
Dark, spiced fruit on the nose, the oak is so beautifully integrated, you barely notice it and on the palate the wine simply overwhelms you with is delicious, sensuous, lashings of dark fruit, its balance and sublime length on the palate are utterly joyous. This has to be the best Reserva from Murrieta in recent times.
