It's not every day that we have the Euros, the Queens 90th Birthday and an offering as special as this on tasting.
This one was a no brainer:
2014 A Game of Two Halves First Drop Wines South Australia
£12.99 p/b or 6 for £60
These guys are not scared of trying something left field.
A unique, sunny Arneis, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris blend offers thirst-quenchingly crunchy star fruit flavours.
At only 12.5% it won't leave you a dribbling wreck - ouch!
Then to follow that, something to really put a smile on your face whatever the football result.
2006 La Fleur Laroze St. Emilion Chateau Laroze
£33.99p/b or 2 for £60 or £150 for 6
La Fleur Laroze is the Second wine of Chateau Laroze and is ranked as a St Emilion Grand Cru. Bio-Dynamically farmed, the 2006 is a real sweet, fruit-driven hedonistic offering that is a true pleasure to drink now. Plummy in character with enough spice and complexity to male it more than just another drinking wine. This is a very classy, succulent wine that is as good as many wines at twice the price. Still vibrant and youthful at ten years old, making each mouthful pure vinous pleasure. Snap it up while you can!!
