We have two very interesting wines open to try this weekend
2012 Domaine la Sarabande Tradition - Faugères, France
Domaine la Sarabande is a terrific, organically farmed estate that’s run by Australian couple Isla and Paul Gordon who created the estate in 2009. Everything here is hand harvested, fermented with native yeast and bottled unfined and unfiltered in screw cap bottles. The 2012 Tradition is Grenache, Carignan & Syrah blend of which 60% was brought up in stainless steel and 40% in neutral barrels. A gorgeously textured medium-bodied wine it exhibits spicy red fruits, licorice and cured meats characteristics.

2014 Atlantis Treixadura - Ribeiro, Spain
Treixadura is an unusual grape that is also found in Portugal's delicious Vinho Verde. Here in North-Western Spain the influence of a cool climate and frequent rain results in perfect harmony between freshness and acidity. Quite similar to Albariño but with a more floral bouquet and slightly fruitier in the palate this is a delicious, refreshing Summer wine.
