Wines on Tasting in Weybridge 18.06.16

18 June 2016

Royal Ascot celebrations in Weybridge, we will have bubbles on tasting this weekend plus a few delicious wines!

NV Janisson Et Fils Brut Tradition

After 2 nights of Lobster and Champagne dinner in our shop, this was a highlight!

Dominated by Pinot Noir from vineyards mainly located in Grand Crus and 1er Crus, this Champagne is crisp but rounded at the same time with lovely almond, peach and baked apple notes. Long mineral finish.

Making Champagne flows through the veins of renowned winemaker Manuel Janisson. Both his maternal and paternal grandfathers were Champagne producers. The House of Janisson et Fils lies in the idyllic Grand Cru village of Verzenay where they own seven hectares of vineyards and have been producing Champagnes since 1923.
£33.99 per bottle
£180 case of 6 (£30/btl!)

2015 Greywacke Sauvignon Blanc

The latest vintage from the dynamic winemaker and photographer, Kevin Judd. Taking its name from the stones found the in the original vineyard, this is a classic (we think the best) Marlborough Sauvignon.  A generous palate with citrus flavours, deliciously ripe and succulent, finishing with that classic Marlborough zing.
£19.99 per bottle
£180 case of 12 (£15/btl!)

2015 Felino Chardonnay

Mouthfilling, silky and crisp, this pale straw-coloured chardonnay is aromatic with fresh, ripe pear and guava. The palate adds citrus and yeasty notes for complexity as focused fruit flavours persist, finding balance with subtle oak undertones and bright acidity on the finish.

We are big fans of Paul Hobbs, named most influential winemaker in California and receiving the magical 100 point score from Robert Parker more than once, Paul Hobbs has shot to fame for crafting wines that are truly remarkable for their balance, intensity and sense of place.

After visiting Argentina in 1989,  became deeply interested in both the terroir and Argentine culture, noticing the unique potential for Malbec and other varietals in the region.
£16.99 per bottle
£150 Mix Felino case of 12 (£12.50/btl!)

2010 Marques de Murrieta Tinto Reserva Rioja

The 2010 Reserva in particular thrilled us all, with it's sense of perfect balance. Dark, spiced fruit on the nose, the oak is so beautifully integrated, you barely notice it and on the palate the wine simply overwhelms you with is delicious, sensuous, lashings of dark fruit, its balance and sublime length on the palate are utterly joyous.
£21.99 per bottle
2 for £40.00!

2012 Vina Robles Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

Lovely maturing garnet colour, with deep aromas of dried fruit and hints of cigar and spice coming through. On the palate you got got a wine with such complexity starting with juicy dark fruit and finishing with a soft, creamy acidity which all integrated perfectly.
£22.99 per bottle

See you over the weekend!

Marta
