Living in the hope of sunshine this weekend we'll be showing two favourite Summer wines. Both work equally well as aperitifs or with food.
2015 La Battistina Nuovo Quadro di Gavi
£15.99 per bottle or 2 for £30
Gavi is one of Italy's most fashionable whites but some are a lot better than others. This fine example by one of the region's leading producers is from a small vineyard of 35 year old Cortese vines. It is fresh, zesty and minerally with crisp acidity balanced by lovely hints of pear and peach. Surprisingly complex.
2015 MIrabeau Pure Rosé
£13.99 per bottle
£11.89 as part of a mixed 6,
£11.19 in a mixed 12
One of our favourite rosés. This beautiful Syrah/Grenache blend is made by an English couple who decided to follow their dream and set up a sustainable vineyard in the South of France. A delicate pink, it is refreshing with an excellent balance of acidity and soft Summer fruits.
Cheers
