In Church Street this weekend we have a real couple of delights for you to taste;

2014 Domaine Bonnet Huteau Muscadet - Chateau la Tarciere

This is a right little belter from the Loire, and never really gets the praise it should, so we thought we'd put it on tasting this weekend so everyone can see how good these wines can be. With ripe fruit aromas, a pleasant richness and fine mineralityI'm certain you won't be disappointed.

2013 La Colombette Au Creux de Nid Rouge

It has a deep dark purple colours, with wonderfully full and rich fruit aromas. These come through on the palate with a balanced tannic structure and a lovely acidity which all works perfect for this unusual grape variety.

And not forgetting;

2015 Idyll 'Achinos Rose, La Tour Melas, Achinos, Greece - Introductory Price £19.99/bt

This cracking Rose is made from a blend of Syrah, Grenache and a local variety called Agiorgitiko.  Fresh, elegant with pretty red fruit notes and citrus on the nose.  On the palate this wine is deliciously smooth and polished with the a fresh balance and a delightfully long finish.  If tasted blind I would be thinking top quality Provence........instead its' top quality Greece and in my mind beats both Miraval & Whispiring Angel - but how many of our customers will have the Αρχίδια to give it a go?
