This week we're going a little off piste with our grape variieties. First up with a white from Ribeiro in North West Spain.
2016 Atlantis Treixadura From the granitic slopes of the valleys that follow the Minho river comes this unctuous white with floral notes and a fresh persistent fruit. £13.99p/d or 6 for £70
Next up is one of my favourite grape varieties with the following wine:
2013 Savoire Faire D'Autrefois Mourvedre Pays D'Oc Selected from two vineyard plots in the southernmost part of the Rhône valley, Savoir-Faire d'Autrefois showcases the winemakers skill in taming the wild Mourvèdre grape. This barbecue friedly number offers an intriguing nose of tobacco, cloves and leather, followed by a luxuriant yet sleek and supple palate. Dark cherries and chocolate are interwoven with fine French oak and supported by firm tannins. £12.99 or 2 for £25
