Feather & Leather Pop Up £80pp
In January, one of my favourite Pop Up Dinners is back, the celebration of mighty Malbec.  On this night we showcase the best of Cahors, with the regional speciality of duck (feather) followed by the best of Argentina with their celebrated beef (leather).  It's always a great night and so far, no one has taken this to be the dress code!

"La Glorie de la Chasse" Pop Up £80pp

Our French cousins love "La Chasse" (the hunt) or as we would call it, the game season, so this is a French- inspired game night.For the French, hunting is not just a sport but has an important role in pest control.  For vineyard owners, Wild Boar have the ability to sniff out ripening grapes and can devastate an unprotected vineyard in a matter of minutes......thankfully they're pretty tasty too!

So, celebrating the deliciousness of Sanglier (Wild Boar) amongst other delights of the hunt, we will be matching these dishes to some classical wines from Bordeaux, Cahors, Burgundy, Rhone and the Languedoc.

Winemaker's Dinner - Silver Oak, Napa £150pp


Silver Oak is one of the Napa Valley's top estates and we'll be joined by one of their winemakers who will take us through their wines accompanied with a  four course meal and enjoy tasting their range of wines - most of which retail over £100, hence the price tag on this event.  This represents a brilliant opportunity to taste some sensational wines, showcasing just how good California can be!

Wine vs. Beer Pop Up £80pp
With the rise of the craft beer movement there has been a renewed focus on matching beer and food but can it really surpass the magnificence of wine and justify the rise of a "beer sommelier".....surely not!?   So here's an evening where we can test this out, matching wines and beers to a 4 course menu from Salted.  Should be a great fun night!

A Celebration of Burgundy Pop Up £80pp

It has been said that Burgundy is the centre of French cuisine so this night we'll be celebrating this fabulous centre of French culture.  Focusing upon a range of wines reaching from Cluny to Dijon and dishes to match, this will be one stunning evening where we will serve five courses, including a true rarity for us, French Cheese - we usually do English!.

Lamb & Rioja Pop Up £80pp
This is one of the classic matches of Lamb and Rioja and fits in perfectly with the new season's lamb.  But there is much more to to this magnificent beast than just your classic roast leg and Max is going to thrill us with 3 different lamb dishes, then a selection of sheep cheeses, all of which we will mix with a wonderful range of wines from Rioja.

Bordeaux Pop Up £80pp
Bordeaux is possibly the most well-known wine producing region in the world of wine.  With some of the very greatest wines hailing from their famous Chateaux, we'll be focusing on some of the lesser known regions, some of their fabulous whites and some wonderful dessert styles.  This is where value comes in spades and the wines have the ability to thrill the palate, not scare the wallet.  Max from Salted will be conjuring up some Bordelaise classics, although I suspect lamprey in  red bordeaux might be a bit tricky to source!

One of our most popular dinners.  Lobster served over four courses, which we will match to a selection of Champagnes and maybe a couple of Non-Champagne Sparklers to mix it up a bit!

A Portuguese Pop Up £70pp
The Portuguese are one of Britain's oldest allies, sharing history and in particular a love of Port wines!  I learnt  about Pitt & Port before I had even tasted port (legally anyway!). However, we should think beyond the mighty fortified port wines.  Tonight will be a celebration of the brilliant white and reds being made across this fascinating wine producing country.  Max, from Salted, will put together some Portuguese inspired dishes to accompany what will be a thrilling night of discovery.  I should add, we will not be grilling sardines in the shops under any circumstances!

The Vineking Summer Charter Cruise Pop Up £70pp
For August, we have decided that if you're not away, you need to reward yourself, so let us take you on a cruise of the Med!  Featuring Mediterranean inspired dishes and wines from some of the most exciting wine producing Mediterranean islands, we're going to island hop our way in an evening, without a seagull insight, nor a Captain's table.  However there will be a 5 course meal, with wines paired to perfection.  Who needs a holiday for weeks, when The Vineking Charter Cruise Company can whip you around the Med in an evening!

This night will be a celebration of the brilliance of venison, surely the most majestic of meats.  The flavours can range from the delicate to the quite rich and gamey, so this will be a wonderful evening to showcase some really interesting wines.  Hopefully Max will be serving his sublime venison carpaccio - possibly my favourite of all his dishes.

This was one of 2015's star events.  Matching 5 classically inspired Piedmontese style dishes, laden with truffle, washed down by a range of wonderful Barberas, Barbarescos and Barolos it's going to be one amazing evening - book fast as last year this sold out in 48 hours and we had to add additional dates!

We have been running our Pop Up Restaurant with Max for five years now, so we have decided to celebrate this.  On the signature nights, we will be taking the very best of all his dishes he has made over the past five years, honing and perfecting them for a no-holds-barred extravaganza with wine matches that will simply blow you away.......can't wait!
