Has the Power of 5 struck again?
Over the past 20 years Bordeaux has produced a succession of brilliant, classic vintages at regular 5 year intervals. So has 2015 in Bordeaux conformed to the pattern set by 2000, 2005 and 2010?
Yes
Why is it worth Buying En Primeur?
I think (hope) that the days of Bordeaux being an investment vehicle are gone. So, why buy 2015?
1) The wines are looking to be excellent.
2) Bordeaux needs to make this work so I think the prices will hopefully be sensible.
3) Many have not bought in since 2010, so there's a gap in the cellar.
4) Buy to drink in the future, or if you buy double, swap the excess for new wines in the future and drink for free!
So What's been released so far?
Some excellent Sauternes (2015 is very good for Sauternes), some minor Chateau and Pomerol's mighty Gazin!
