Wines on Tasting in Church Street 23.04.16

23 April 2016

On tasting this weekend we have two wines that are classic expressions of their regions at cracking prices.

First up one of our £9.99ers! A fabulously juicy Cabernet Sauvignon from Margaret River. The slightly cooler climate of this Aussie region results in elegant expressions of any grape and this is no exception. It shows a lovely blend of red and black fruit with an underlying complexity of ripe tannin and a whisper of mint to give a classy uplift on the finish that makes you want to go back for glass after glass. Best get a second bottle, or add it to a mixed case where the price comes down to only £7.99!

Next, hoping to will the spring into appearing we've got the gorgeous Nuovo Quadro Gavi di Gavi. Another cool climate wine that like many northern Italians likes to show off it's finesse! It has aromas of stone fruit and white blossom followed by a hint of pear, and a palate of refreshingly citrus zest and acidity that lifts the body, making it perfectly balanced. A wonderful example of this DOCG wine. £15.99 or £12.79 when you buy as part of a mixed 12!
