Ca dei Maghi is a small farm in the hills of Valpolicella making very small quantities of the most exquisite wines. Although started in the 1950's it is only since 2011, when Paolo Creazzi took over the reins, that this estate has gone from being 'good' to outstanding. Each year he seeks to express classical Valpolicella at its very best.
The drying grapes are harvested by hand in the first week of September, the other half at the beginning of October, before being blended together. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks, then the wine rests there for 6 months before bottling.
A complex wine, full of texture and layers of flavour. Golden in colour, it combines honeyed notes, herb, almonds and spice, which really opens up in the glass. This is a very exciting find.
