Situated on the southern bank of the Douro, just west of the Peñafiel itself,this bodega focuses on pure, modern expressions of Tempranillo. The winery works entirely by gravity, designed in 2000 to allow for minimal intervention in the winemaking and a similarly minimal effect on the local environment. Aged in a mixture of French and American oak for only 5 months, the wine shows expressive red fruit, liquorice, spice, and vanilla, on a fresh palate with fine, powdery tannins. Drink with barbecued meats, glazed ham, or roasted aubergine.
