“Quivering with fragrant florals, fresh orchard fruits and passionfruit nuance that enrobes the soft, succulence of the palate. Expressive and complex with a fine seam of grapefruit acidity that carries the finely-tuned aromas to the finish.” |
Grown on the lower terraces of Te Muna Road, this is a wine of remarkable texture and layered complexity. Martinborough’s cooler climate delivers lifted aromatics and a fine, steely minerality, while the rocky soils create intensity of the fruit.
Outside the township of Martinborough lies our Te Muna Estate, a site known for its complex alluvial soils, diurnal shifts, and wild, wind-swept conditions. In te reo Māori, Te Muna means "secret place”, and fittingly, it has become a hidden gem of the wine world. From this site we produce Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir of remarkable aromatic purity and complexity.
The 2025 vintage began with a warm, dry spring encouraging early vine development and higher yields. A cooler, more overcast summer slowed ripening, preserving delicate aromatics. The wine was predominantly fermented in stainless steel to ensure the floral and stonefruit characters remain expressive, while a portion is fermented and aged in oak to add complexity. 13% of the fruit was hand harvested, with individual parcels fermented separately in a combination of stainless steel tanks, French and Austrian oak. After 3 months on lees, it was fined and filterd before bottling.
