2024 Constitution Road Chardonnay

Robertson Winery Constitution Road Chardonnay is a flagship wine crafted to highlight the region's ability to produce exceptional white wines.A barrel-fermented and oak-aged (12 months in French oak) Chardonnay from Robertson, South Africa, showcasing a full-bodied style with vibrant fruit and a creamy texture.

The grapes come from selected premium vineyards on Robertson Winery’s Wandsbeck farm. The vineyards are shy bearing and the berries are extremely small. Only the free-run juice was used, partially settled for 12 hours and then racked off the heavy lees into new and 2nd-fill French oak. Natural fermentation took place in barrel, after which the wine was left on the primary lees and underwent malolactic fermentation in new and 2nd fill French oak barrels. The wine was aged for 18 months in barrel.

Tasting note: This full-bodied Chardonnay greets you with vibrant aromas of lemon zest, ripe pineapple, and hints of toasted almond. On the palate, layers of creamy vanilla, butterscotch, and subtle mineral notes are elegantly balanced by refreshing acidity. Aged in French oak, the wine offers a luxurious mouthfeel and a long, lingering finish. Perfect for special occasions or pairing with gourmet dishes.
